I am in the market for a complete lens lineup, but my problem is that I want
chrome lenses for my m2.
But they are rare and more expensive.
So please convince me with pics that black lenses look good on chrome bodys.

rare and expensive go together, if you buy new, the price different won't be so dramatic.
i want chrome as well but couldn't find it, so I took the blacks. But the new ZM chrome lenses are easy to find, so here is your solution-

Fabian, there are 2 things I can say with confidence;
- black lenses on black bodies are perfect, all my cameras and lenses are black, this includes SLR, DSLR and MF
- unless you want to collect lenses, buying new Leica lenses now makes little sense, most Zeiss lenses are equal or better in the same category, and cost exactly 1/3rd, I have 2 Leica lenses and am thinking to get rid of them both, my Zeiss glass is simply too superior.

The Zeiss option looks like a good solution.
How does the silver finish match the classic leica chrome? It looks very shiny on the pics.
Has anybody a picture of a silver zeiss lens on a leica chrome body?

A tip--get some vintage Canon lenses in chrome. Cheaper and fine performers.

Nah, chrome on chrome looks best.
What vintage of chrome lenses are you looking for? I haven't had much problem getting chrome lenses. I had a 50mm Summicron DR that I just sold here, and picked up a Summilux 50 from here as well (just like the one in the photo above), both chrome. Both of those would match your M2 very well...

I already own a DR and a Summitar.
I want some modern lenses now, because sometimes I don't like the classic look of those two lenses.
I think i will go with Zeiss.
Maybe a 25 biogon, 50 Planar and Leica 90 Summicron pre asph.
What do you think of this setup?
Or I go for a Summilux asph 50.
But I don't know if I feel well about such an expensive lens.
I will have to wait a few weeks anyway, before I know the exact budget.
We will see.

My black 50mm 'Cron and 90mm Elmarit look good on my chrome beater M3 (at least to my eyes). Doesn't necessary true for the opposite (I saw a chrome lenses on black bodies - look really out of the way IMHO)...
I personally would prefer all black, pitty there are no black M3 (unless loosing my mind shelling some serious k$ss for a collectable black M3 - really not an option)...

Chrome lenses on black bodies? OK by me.
Here's my black Shintaro M3, which originally was a plain user M3 (purchased from Luigi about 7 years ago, then I took it to Tokyo to have it painted.)
Looks as good or better than a new MP.
