I had been looking at an overlooked X-T1 in John Lewis department store for more than a year at £850 which is in no way justifiable given that I have an X-Pro1/16-50mm and an X-M1/27mm which are fine for my modest snapshots requirements .
I had month earlier , uniquely[ ? ] been able to ask the assistant to put my X-Pro battery into it and try it out .
I loved it , but £850 ????!!!!
Today , in clearance , the X-T1 dropped to £550 , but JL would not sell it to me as they did not get that it is discontinued and that , as I had checked months earlier , that there are no more in the store .
Having been an SRT/XD7 faithful , I had kinda set my heart on the SLR style Fuji being quite content with the 16 mp sensor .
It took 45 minutes for no less that 5 people to agree and find the accessories [ no box ] with a further discount [ 10% for the display model and £45 for the missing charger , which I don't need anyway .]
i don't think that I have as much dee'ficulty trying to buy something from a Dept Store in my 71 years !
That they are not Fuji minded being evidenced by the overlooked X-T1 and the no accessories X-M1 which , 6 months ago , i picked up with the 16-50 [for the x-Pro 1 ] for under £200
The total for the X-T1 was £427.00 which is not bad for my SLR styled Fuji with familiar EQ and that marginally faster 18-55 lens .
An indulgence ? Certainly , but I like my final triptych !
I can't quite believe that my persistence n'visiting' that specific camera for around a year , paid off !
... maybe I will get around to rediscovering the joy of snapshots since retirement killed my daily visits to London Town ... but that's another story ...
Maybe in 5 years , I shall be watching that X-T2 as the price tumbles !!!
regards

I love my X-T1...still don't feel a need for anything more.
Have fun with it... you really wait for the right moment to buy and I admire that.

jsrockit-
it was around £500 or no camera - not worth £850 to me when both the new X-Pro and ex-dem X-M1 were less than £550 ...
It has that original black SRT magic which I miss .... digital analogue ?
The X-Pro1 and the X-T1 exude quality and style irrespective of the EQ etc .
