I tried out digital rigs over the past 4-5 years, always looking for the digital version of what I already have. Nothing worked up to expectation. If I had the money for an M9 then....well you know what I mean. The Rd-1 certainly fit the bill but I was also paranoid about continued service (Stupid me). So I went through NEX 3, 5N, Pentax K-5, Nikon D everything. Of course none of them could give me the rangefinder experience (please don't bring up focus peaking). Then I walked into the proverbial wall. Just get a great a digital camera and keep your film rangefinders and old Nikon SLR's that I love so much. So I got a Sony A65. It is lightweight which is good and bad, I got the kit lens which probably can not resolve for the 24 megapixel sensor. So I picked up the 35/1.8 and the tiny Sony 85/2.8. The whole thing was $1250 since I got a returned A65 and kit lens at the Sony store. I, gulp, sold my M6 to pay for it which leaves me with my ZI and my CV R3M and my bevy of old Nikon bodies. OK I did it and this A65 really rocks. Check out some of the reviews. So now I have my digital camera and I am so relieved I gave up trying to make the digital experience also a rangefinder experience.

Congrats! I've been tempted by the A77 a few times but I have too much Nikon gear to make the switch.

Enjoy!
