Hello to all users of this Forum.

I just came home and I'm thrilled...

This afternoon I ordered my very own MP a la carte with 0.85 viewfinder, all black chrome, the classic rewind button, without engraving, and the MP leatherette.

After reading all the threads about the MP (twice 🙂 ) I became very enthousiastic with the idea of making pictures the way I was tought in Filmschool, some twenty years ago...

Imagine the shot, get the right lens, measure the light, interpret the measured light, set the aperture you want, focus and produce the image as you imagined...

The MP seems to me the ultimate tool for this kind of shooting, and I hope a new and for me personally innovative way of taking photo's will emerge from working with this camera.

They say an a la carte takes about five weeks to arrive...

Luckily I have the M8 to practice in the meantime...:bang:

Thanks to all the people who contributed to this forum and helped me to make the decision to buy the MP.

One of the most expensive and one of the easiest purchases I ever made...

Great camera, personally don't have one but I use an M4 which is basically the same, only 35 years older. If you like film, and controlling the output this will be a great camera to use. My next camera will be an MP, whenever that might be.

Do you develop yourself ?

... I think a purchase you will never regret, pass it on to your kids, thats what my dad did with his M4, which is mine now, and still my main camera 🙂

Best camera Leica ever made. I have an .85 Chrome MP and lovvvvvvvve it! I also bought a mint chrome tabbed 50mmm Summicron. What a great combination. You're in for a real treat.

It's not that difficult to rewind with a knob :<)

Geniet er van. Mijn M7 a la carte was er binnen 4 weken.
 
In all seriousness, the MP is the best camera I've ever used. It is the best built, has the best quality stable of lenses, and suits my way of shooting better than anything else. Even if you have 1/10th of the enthusiasm I have for this machine, you will love it.
 
The MP is the best camera I have ever used. My congrats ! Now buy some film, add a nice Summilux or Summicron and you'll be very happy.
 
I know and share your feelings. I have Leica lenses for my R-D1 and M8 so I decided to get the MP and learn to be more engaged in the process by shooting film. Now I really enjoy going out with the MP and it makes a really good back up when traveling.

To most of us strange boys and girls the MP is - for some reason or other - the best camera ever made. So it´s a very good decision to order it just the way you want it to be.
