I did not plan to buy this Nikon F2...

Well... After all it was not as nice as looked on the picture, very far from being mint... The seller agreed to 30% partial refund, so i guess i will keep it. Bet tested with the film today - 1/2000 speed does not work properly, frames at this speed are blank... So probably it will need a CLA... Shutter curtain bounce or...?

Shutter capping. Second curtain travels faster than first curtain and the slit between the 2 curtains closes, causing no exposure/blank frame.

Yep. Easy fix if you have a shutter timer/tester (and a Nikon release button collar unscrewing tool). It helps to have the F service manual in addition to the F2 one, as relevant bits of the shutter timing section of the latter seem to have got lost in translation...

valdas--don't know where you are located--but Jim at Vermont Camera Works did a great job on an F2 for me just recently. Very reasonable charges, very fast turnaround..
If you think the F2 is worth keeping--have it CLAed by someone compentent.

Not sure if "exercising" the curtain by firing off a few shots would help. It helped with mine. And if you intend you keep the camera for a long while, no harm sending it to Sover Wong for a good service. F2s are a joy to use

It actually helped. I gave a bit of an exercise to this speed and now I can see some light 🙂 Not sure if it is consistent, but let's see...
