Well-known
I just developed my first roll of kodak tmax 400 b&w film. I noticed on the back side of the film it is a dark flat black and on the front I can see the picture clearly to partial clearly. When I scan the negative with my epson 4990 photo scanner most of the negatives turn out white and very little detail. I used hc-100 dilution B at the recommended 5 1/2 mins at 68-69 degress. I did a prewash with plain water before the developing. When I dumped out the prewash I noticed some black residue in the water. I don't know if that had anything to do with it. This is the 3rd time I developed film and I never noticed this before. I was using a medium format folder and the rear door came open by accident and I exposed the 10th section, but I don't think this would have anything to do with it. Any help appreciated.
I can post a scan if required.
