These last couple weeks I've had some TERRIBLE luck with my cameras. I'm starting to believe that my cameras get together when I'm asleep and plan to sabotage my ability to use them. Here's a quick breakdown of whats been happening:
-Christmas day, I'm shooting the family around the house with my Bessa R and the shutter jams. Its in Stephen Gandy's hands now, being repaired.
-Last week I dropped my Zorki 4K. It looked like it screwed something up inside the viewfinder. I got brave and tore it open, only to find out that nothing was wrong. So I started to put it back together. While the camera was open, my screwdriver somehow slipped and punctured through the shutter curtain. I still can't even figure out how that one happened.
-The day after the Zorki incident I got an Iskra in the mail. It arrived not functioning properly. So back it goes.
-Today I was on campus and had my Canonet GIII-QL17 with me. After a while I realized later I left it behind somehwere, and when I went back to find it, it was nowhere to be found! My Canonet was PERFECT, without a brightmark on it! It was recently CLA'd, and everything was exactly how it should have been. It was recovered a couple months ago with kid skin leather from Cameraleather.com and it had a brand new (just arrived last night) neck strap from Gordy. It also had an almost completely exposed roll of film in it :bang:
I think I'm just going to start keeping my M3 locked away in a safe that I don't have a key to. I've NEVER had these sort of problems with my cameras before, and now, out of nowhere, I have a whole streak of terrible luck.
