I dropped my M6

Berti - I also have dropped an M6 on the rewind crank. While the internal mechanisms need to be checked out, the rewind crank is a pretty expensive piece. In my case, the shaft was bent, but usable. DAG or Sherry Krauter would be my choice to check the camera out. Their addresses are available on the Web with very little searching. Good luck. My M6 has been fully functional for the last five years, since its encounter with a marble floor.

I think they are designed to fall on their rewind cranks. Mine fell 3 feet off a chair onto a stone floor with the 75mm Summilux attached, which is a pretty heavy piece of glass. Could have been a lot worse...

So, I thought I'd give you a little update on my misfortune.
I received a very reassuring mail from Don at DAG that made me want to send my gem to him. Great communication.
Thanks again to everybody for so much help

WOW the recommendations in this thread is like a classic example of driving your car to a shop for an oil change and then the mechanics recommending you to swap out your current suspension for a set of racing ones...

"ohh yeah, now that you mentioned it, my car does feel slightly soft when going around the corners..."
