Hello all,

Well, my M6 I won off of ebay came in the mail today!

It is in perfect condition. The plastic is still on the bottom plate! I am going to run it through it's paces and see if all is working properly but it looks good so far!

Thanks everyone who gave me advice so far. I look forward to posting some pics taken with this camera.

I can't get over the weight of the camera with just a 50 f/2 on it.

Thanks, Mark

Congratulations! If this is your first Leica... be ready, prepare to dream...

Just don't tell what you paid for it. Nobody would believe you, unless it's another photo-geek like us.

Again, congratulations! 🙂

Thanks

Thanks Guys,

Yes this is my first Leica. My wife thinks I am nuts "going back" to film as we have been shooting digital a while.

Here are the auction numbers for those of you who would like to take a look.

M6 2900038115444
50 Cron 230037715713

Francisco, I see you live in Illinois

Francisco,

I see you live in DeKalb Illinois.

I am originally from Champaign and my Wife, Kara is from Effingham.

We have been in AZ for about 2 1/2 years and love it. ( Well I do, Kara does get a little home sick at times)

We were just back for a visit in Sept. We went to Shed aquarium. I wish I would have had my M6 then. No flash was allowed in the aquarium and the little Digital P&S we had just would not cut it. My Uncle tells me he uses his Canon rangefinder for Museum work and other stuff where flash is not allowed and gets great results.

Regards, Mark

Congratulations Mark. You will hate this camera😉 You are of course on the slippery slope - how can one possibly be enough, can the MP be so much better, wouldn't it look lovely in a Luigi case .................. and then there are the lenses. I hate this place 😀

Gid,

Yeah I here you! Already "watching" a 90 mm on ebay now and played with an MP the other day. I guess I will need at least 1 more body and a 90 and a 35 and.... :bang:

WHAT HAVE I DONE!

Put my first roll of Delta 100 in it. Man, that was easy.

Wow,

I was a bit concerned about loading the M6. It was easier than my old FM3a. I followed the directions and what do you know? It was easy as pie. Man I am going to like this thing.😀

I had the same concerns when I first got my M6, but as you have found out its no big deal. As the "experts" here told me, just get into the habit of checking that the rewind moves when you cock the shutter.

Nice!

I've had little/no trouble loading film in my IIIc so far, I don't even trim leaders. No doubt the M6 will be enjoyable!

I'm bummed the M4P I had my eye on went yesterday (was going to buy it tomorrow) so now I have to pay just a little bit extra for it..."if yer nae fast yer last" as my gran would say

Mark:

Congratulations on a great deal and a superb camera! I too am a recent M6 owner. It's made me hunger for the M8! I also hate this place, but can't seem to stay away! :bang:
