Francisco,

I see you live in DeKalb Illinois.

I am originally from Champaign and my Wife, Kara is from Effingham.

We have been in AZ for about 2 1/2 years and love it. ( Well I do, Kara does get a little home sick at times)

We were just back for a visit in Sept. We went to Shed aquarium. I wish I would have had my M6 then. No flash was allowed in the aquarium and the little Digital P&S we had just would not cut it. My Uncle tells me he uses his Canon rangefinder for Museum work and other stuff where flash is not allowed and gets great results.

Regards, Mark

Fun places! 🙂

I got my PhD at the U of I in Champaign-Urbana... where I taught Spanish to several people from Effingham!

Now, I work, or rather teach at Northern Illinois University.

I took once my M6TTL to the Shedd... and got very nice Scala slides. The only problem is that you need relatively fast film to make it work (anything under ISO 400 won't do). About photographing fish... not as much fun as photographing people.

Did you know the big fish, Bubba, died of old age?

Take care and let me know if you return to Chicago! 🙂

So when were you at the UofI?

My Uncle Brian, the one who started me on the road with Photography, is retired from the UofI. I lived in Champaign all my childhood and went in the Military from 87-93 came back and lived there until 04 when we moved out here.

Did you ever make it to Alerton Park out in Monticello? It is run by the UofI and is a wonderful place for photography. Did a few weddings out there and lots of portraits. Another nice spot is Kankakee River State Park. Especially this time of year.

I did not realize Buba had died. How old was he?
Regards, Mark
