I have a question about my 3.5cm 1.8 lens ~

I don't have my 2005 camera here at work but do have my vintage 3.5cm f1.8. It is exactly like yours, when turning the whole lens in my finger 360 degrees,it is obvious that is the way it was designed.

If you look inside the mount, what causes it is that large set-screw inside a deep slot. The machining of the edge of the slot affects the tilt.

Now that I stare at it, mine does tilt, very very very slightly. As I said before, this is inconsequential to the lens in use, because the sleeve slides back and forth when put into the focus mount. This spring-loaded movement is actually how the focus helical matches up with the built-in 50mm helical on the mount.

I say stop staring at un-mounted lenses. Put them on a camera and take pictures.

Yes, and I have one of these 'defective' tilted new 1.8/35 Nikkors also 😉

Its very interesting how these Nikon/Contax lens mounts work. Much more complicated then the Leica M-mounts I'm used to, but it works and the lens really locks on well and with the focusing it seems more uniform with individual lens.

The "tilt" is caused by the set screw holdling on the focus sleeve. Since that is incomprehensible, the red arrow below points to ths slot containing the large set screw. The amount of "tilt" depends on the machining of this slot. (Original picture posted by Kiu).

Ok one of my J12 has a pincushion problem, this is from the top right corner and the building should be vertical.

The other J12 dont show this problem but it is not unknown that the focus follower needs to have its paint removed and filed to get it to focus with the little focus wheel. Wish I had a Nikon 35mm.
