I do think that your set up is closer to what I (my friend) want to achieve. Smart move switching GAS to the OM system unless you decide to go for some of the more expensive lenses.

I know the feeling. For my friend it was SLRs. He carried two bodies, a motor drive, six lenses, a flash and decided it was too much. Sold most of it (kept his first kit) and got a M4-P 21/2.8, 35/2, 90/2. Eventually an M6 was added and a few old and slow Leica M mount lenses were added. After several iterations, now my friend carries a 15/4.5, 40/1.4, 105/2.5 kit with a 25/4 on a second body (some times).
I think your friend has too many of the same (or close) focal length lenses. I know that each lens has a signature, but he (or she) has to trim down.
If you friend is looking for Leica bodies, be careful about mixing shutter speed rotation directions. The M6 classic goes one way, anything newer I think is the other way.

but that is exactly what i did, btw, cause i just didn't want to mess with the balance of my rf kit.
and now i have another whole 'thing' to play with when the muse is gone.

No, an M3 is a classic. If you get your hands on a good one you will know what I mean. And is 35mm is your thing, an M2 will do too. Just something to have hanging around always loaded with B&W film waiting to be taken for a walk when using the other stuff is a chore.
