Canon LTM i have to share this!

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses

simply LOVE IT... very small, even shorter as the C/V 25mm, but heavier - pure brass made. The finder is better than I expected: a bit distortion, good angle-of-view, able to look-through with my eye-glasses. Not so good sight as with my C/V viewfinders but it looks better on my cameras. Same and cap size filter as the black-chrome 3.5/100.
Cute case too... and one previous owner stored the finder the wrong way, or it get loose, with no isolating stuff between these two items, making some marks at the finder's side.

Everything works very smooth on it.. a great buy for 200 USD. HOOPER wrotes only 670 were made of this series. Strange: the focussing point is at the "Canon position" at 11 o'clock whereas the aperture index is exactly on top (12 o'clock). Is that common on Serenar type lenses?

cheers, Frank

it IS a tiny lens.
i have started to carry the 35/3.5 and this lens together with one body in a very small tamrac bag i have. feels great and i think will be a good daytime kit. i take it on my lunch time walks.

i will have to check my other serenar lenses to see where the aperture stop is.
will get back to you.

He wrote so. Not too common in ebay (the later BLACK 28mm f/3.5 - 200x according to him - I've seen only once in 3 years). But his number for the 25mm f/4 is 5.371x

In honor for the new lens I created a new page on my site dedicated to CANON wide-angles. If I have the 1.5/85mm in my hands, will be followed by a telephoto, a standard lens, and a camera page, in German and English respectively... making all the stuff more concise! ...have fun! cheers Frank

I came home last night and found this camera, a Canon7 with a 35/2 lens, on my watchlist that has just ended at 12,500 yen (around $106). I didn't remember having it on my watchlist, it was my wife who put it there but she didn't bid on it because she didn't know much about Canon RFs. It was heartbreaking. Here I am always on the lookout for a Canon 7 I could afford and it passed me by. :(

Ow! And I thought my $189 Canon 7 body was a good deal. Someone is happy today and I'm sorry it wasn't you.

And from the pic, it's even got that strange accessory bracket. That's worth a fair bit by itself!

If it weren't for the booze, I wouldn't have been able to sleep either.

Just thinking about it makes my heart sink again. :bang:
