Not much, but...
2 Elmar 50 3.5 (1937 uncoated and 1953 coated Red scale)
1 Summicron DR (no camera that fits it, though. Dunno why I still keep it.)
4 others (SLRs, etc)

I like the compactness of the 1.9, but it is a little soft wide open. It is somewhat similar to a Summitar when stopped down a bit, but not quite as sharp.
I mainly have them because I bought several bodies that had them, and haven't sold much of the Canon RF gear I've collected over the years. I should probably sell off at least one of these, and a couple of the 50/1.8's, at least.
I keep putting it off, so they may be part of my estate

You have three Serenar 50/1.9 collapsible lenses. What is the reason? Is this an excellent lens for use?

Hello Harry,
The softer look may be a plus for portraits. Try it out.

Since my last posting in this thread, I have added additional 50mm lenses. Now I also have a Luxon 50mm/2 in LTM. The Luxon was meant to be used with a Paxette camera, but Brian Sweeney changed the "life" of this lens by removing the glass from the barrel and placing it into a specific model J-3 barrel.

The Canon 50/0.95 is super cool for portraits and other types of photography where you isolate a subject dramatically from the background.

Having only handled a Noctilux for a couple minutes I've never really gotten to handle anything that fast.
Do I need one? Nah, would I love to spend a day with one? You bet!

I was lucky enough to compare a Noctilux 50mm/1.0 with a Canon 50mm/0.95. What a match up it was. Once the testing was over, I got back to my modest Canon 50mm/1.2.

I have a Nokton 35/1.2 and a 50/1.4 but it sure doesn't have the same "mystique"
(And before I get flamed, I know mystique doesn't take better pictures, but we'll all sit and banter regardless right?_

I just did a story in the latest LHSA Viewfinder on 50mm lenses. This forced me to unearth my stash. I did think that I had "maybe 8-10"! Oh, sure, after having dug up 13 I thought that was enough, but lo and behold, there was another 9 in various boxes and desk drawers. These were only the lenses that could be put on a M-mount, either straight or with a screw to bayonet adapter! Lets not even go into the morass that is Nikon or Nikon compatible RF lenses!
I have no explanation for this! I am primarily a 35 and wider shooter and always regarded the 50 as a 'short tele". Oh, well it has saved me a lot of money in not having to buy body-caps!

Tom,
You "need" to get rid off your excess in 50mm lenses here. Let's have a "Tom Gets Rid Off His 50mm Lenses" bash! [smile]

Sorry, I cant give any away as that means I have to find bodycaps for the M2's and there is that sudden moment in the middle of the night when you sit bolt upright and say to yourself " Oh, I haven't used my Summitar for weeks" and you know that you cant fall asleep until have put film in a camera and attached the lens! You would not want me having night mares would you?
As a matter of fact, that happened last night! I have a handful of rolls of Panatomic X, old enough to drink and vote, that I spooled up in cassettes. I have been shooting with a variety of 50's with these rolls and thinking about it I remembered that Summitar and got up and loaded a M6 and stuck the Summitar on it! Ultimately, all of these rolls will serve as the basis for an article in the LHSA Viewfinder about what to do with all of these 100ft rolls of repectable age that are stuck in my freezer.

Every friday there are multiple shots taken by strange cameras. If you put a camera down, someone will pick it up and take pictures with it. The Monster Noblex belongs to Henning and Chris, who like wide angles thought it was a great tool.

Hello Tom,
I also have many 50mm lenses, and so far I have only parted with very few of those, only to find myself buy a replacement lens. I have these "nightmares" or maybe night thoughts quite often. When my Summar diappeared, I was restless for months until I bought another one.
Do you favor the Summitar over the collapsible Summicron?
Greetings,
Raid

Hi Arthur,
I see that you only have two posts in the RFF.
I have used most of the type of lenses that you own. How do you like the Nikkor 50/1.1?

Hi Tom,
I'm ready to trade as many 50's of yours for my body caps and solve you this tiny problem
Seriously, Is any of you guys in the process of convincing himself that he needs to sell a clean nikkor 50mm f/2 at any price?
I would like to help here too...
