I hope I don't regret this M4

Hey Tim, It's an M4 at a good price. I don't know the extent of the de-cementing but I've seen plenty of cameras with crystallization of the cement around the edges. This has come up before and most of the experts seem to agree that it may mean nothing. And if it does need repair 5 years down the road so what? It is repairable by several routes. I believe an M2 up to an M6 finder will fit. Have yours repaired with the newer uv cured lens cements and the repair will probably last 150 years. You just bought a very desireable camera at a very nice price. Enjoy it. Stu

The return policy is reassuring but to elliminate any doubt about the prism decementing issue, why not forward a copy of the ad to Sherry Krauter or DAG to get their opinion? Sherry can be a little more pesamistic sometimes so if she says not to worry, I wouldn't give it a second thought.
 
Actually I plan to alternate between a 35 and 50 with the camera, so the 35mm frame lines will be handy. I just like the rigid cron, though I may end up with something else. I have a 50/1.4 nikkor right now, and may just stick with that.

And it's probably not a bad idea to get the input of Sherry or Don before making the final decision on the camera. With any luck, it should arrive today or tomorrow. I went by the local photo store yesterday and picked up some fresh B&W chemistry. It's been almost two years since processing my last roll of film.
 
if i don't get it all wrong, decementing is what has been going on in my m3 since i bought it. that was four years ago, and it has never bothered me, and it has neither gotten any worse (nor better).

your new one looks quite wonderful btw. hope you'll become good mates ,-)
