I've deleted at least five flickr accounts entirely...does that count?
It used to be a yearly thing. I would just be like wow, this sucks...and delete everything.

The best camera is one that still works!
Exactly the same some time ago Paul ... and it was also flickr and I only left two images from about a dozen pages!
I just don't like flickr. I don't like the layout and I particularly didn't like the way my images looked when I uploaded them there. Often photographs that I was quite happy with would look bland and over sharpened.

I deleted 80% of my stream, 80% of my contacts and then decided not to pay anymore for the 'pro' account. I feel way better after that. I see better photos in my stream and much better photos on my flickr 'home' page. Ones need to know that when you go back to a normal account, you only see your 200 most recent images, but all the others are still hosted on flickr so they still appear on the forum, on the blog, etc.

Nope never have done that. I did delete 50 FB "Friends". Sort of a spring cleaning ahhh...

i go through occasionally and delete the really random crap ones
but i have joined up with a local flickr meet group and we do group shoots sometimes...it's fun to compare shots.
flickr is what it is...and for 25 bucks a year it's worth it to me.

I use flickr as a backup. however, a few months ago I deleted maybe 500 images from the RFF gallery (no doubt, to the relief of many of the rest of you).

Been thinking about starting over on flickr. But I rarely check in there.

i don't post images here anymore...flickr gets most of it, random crap and/or art...
and my blog is dedicated to images only, no words/comments at all...and i post the stuff i like best there.

the edit was not because i have a hate on for flickr. it simply was time for a cleaning. and flickr has an easy delete process ...

I deleted my first flickr (hence the moniker "New .Trev") once, but came back again. It has its faults (I hear you on the layout, and over-sharpening) but its a good option for essentially cloud-based image storage that I can send people to see some stuff of mine.
I also used to purge FB "friends" regularly, then I just deleted the whole thing one day. I haven't looked back, FB makes no sense to me (and I'm young...ish) and seems to be just a waste of time--I have enough of those in my life!

You are setting a great example for me. I need to delete a bunch of older Flickr stuff too.
Thanks for the inspiration.

I deleted most of my shots last week. I just had too many and some of them were really crappy. I also deleted my 2nd account that I used for camera shots and such things. All in all I'm happy with Flickr and use it regularly.

I understand when people want to suddenly edit their stream, but I do hate when people delete photos from Flickr.
That's why browsing old photo threads in this forum is so painful. There are one or two images that still work, and an endless stream of empty white rectangles where Flickr photos used to be.

Dos it mean no more posting at Flickr or just a clean-up? I like smug mug, been at Flickr & Photobucket, didn't like the layout and interface.

I just create a scrap pile set and put the photos there (private access only) rather than deleting. sometimes I change my mind and make some public again.
