Well. I took the plunge today and ordered an M-mount 35 Biogon f/2.0. After reading post after post with effusive gushing over this apparent miracle of a lens, I figured that I should buy it and compare with with my 35 Summicron ASPH and sell the one I don't prefer.
But you know what's going to happen, don't you? I'll most likely find some silly justification for keeping both. :bang:
If that does happen I'll sue RFf for negligence. They have been negligent because any reasonable forum administration should reasonably be able to see that I'm a fool especially vulnerable to GAS attacks. This whole forum is an evil, insidious device which functions to keep fools like me confused, to destroy what little ability I have (very little, I assure you) to think and choose as a mature adult, and to divide me from my higher mental faculties (in the off chance I do have them) for some obscure evil purpose.
I am a victim of RFf!
And so might you be; therefore, let's make this a class action suit. All fools check in here. You know there's a great lot of you!
Can anyone recommend a good online solicitor? Someone who could represent a body of RFf clients, current or perhaps former?
PS: I'm a hopelessly erratic photographer who's technique falls way short of being able to take the Biogon and the Summicron anywhere near their technical limits. But in the off chance my comparative test yields some significant differences between these two great lenses, I'll post my findings.

Suit should be brought by the Federal Communications Commission. As there are so many of us, and if the suit is successful, we'll probably all end up with one 49mm haze filter.

I'm in. Also, I'm all for one against e*ay. Only thing is, a direct connection between GAS and cancer has not been established yet.

Hmm, your collection of 35mm keepers is incomplete as long as you do not add the 35/2 Summicron 4th. gen, the 35/1.2 Nokton, and the 35/2 Hexanon. Your only problem will be - no money left for the lawyer...

AT THE VERY LEAST there should be some kind of warning label/statement on the home page!

You work for them, Didier, don't you? When did they get to you? Huh? WHEN DID THEY GET TO YOU?

I studied 2 years of law and I learned this : send me your ZM Biogon as my fees, and I'll be removing a "weight" from you, you will feel much better by having just one lens, I will take care of a legal action (that should consist as saying a loud "thank you guys!") and will probably end up selling more of my gear to get a ZI body matching with the lens. Aaah the sheer joys of RFF membership

And we can sue Anheiser Busch for making me drink, and Exxon for that damn gasoline addition I have. And McDonalds for making me fat...
Not! I'll testify for RFF regarding the concept of personal responsability.
Actually I'm just annoyed I missed that Argus C4 on ebay yesterday.
(Warning! Sarcasm alert, sort of).

I thought this forum was free when I signed up. The registration page should at least point out that this is not in fact the case, especially when people start talking about 70s compact rangefinders (so affordable, but one is just not enough...)

JJ, until you have a Jupiter 12 in LTM and Contax/Kiev mont as well as a Zeiss Contax Biogon 35 in Contax G mount and plan on buying a Planar 35 in M mount plus a Zeiss Ikon to mount it on, you're not in danger!
GAS? Just walk by!

The shot above was taken on E100 in Madrid with a Biogon 35 on a Contax G2

Oops, I made a big mistake! Mine is the Planar 35 in Contax G mount, I want the Biogon 35 in M Mount.
Then I'm complete, both Jupiter 12, the 35 Planar, a 35/2.8 Distagon in C/Y mount and my first M mount lens.
35mm is just my focal length, I bought a G1 for the 28 so I could have the 45 on the G2 and don't change lenses all the time, A short time later I bought the 35 Planar for the G and although it isn't held in high esteem, I like it better and use it more than all other lenses.
Oh, my most used lens on my DSLR is a Canon 24/2.8, pretty close to 35mm FOV on film

Still undecided. I will sell my CV 40mm and get a ZI 28mm or 35MM. Which should I get?

I constantly changed lenses between 45 and 28 on my G2. IMHO 35mm is the more useful focal length, the best compromise.
I now use the 35 for this side of the street and the 90 for the other side
A long time ago I was on the Photokina with a press pass and spend most of the time at the Zeiss booth, then I had the 45 only. One of the Zeiss reps recomended the 28 as a companion to the 45 and the 35 with the 90. Five years later I think he was right.
