Frank - how are you enjoying the Hexar RF? not enough to prevent you from looking for another mistress? curious, what do you feel the M5 offers that's different from your other Ms?

Good question. I do like the Hexar RF, especially for its AE. The M5 is just a different camera like the Contax is different. Variety is the spice of life.

Frank - that was quick! i've handled an M5 and found it to be quite big (i've got small hands)... i'm done... M3 and R2A, vc21, 35/2'cron, 50'lux, 50/2.8elmar, 85/2CanonLTM... i'm covered for RF needs... though if a better conditioned M3 came along at a decent price i'd be all over it... LOL

I used the 500CM recently to so some family portraits and found it difficult to focus even though it has an up-graded bright screen - this is due to my aging eyes, and I found the MF RF camera I was using as well, much easier to focus. I've got MF covered with other cameras so the Hasselblad can go to satisfy this new urge. A man has urges, right?

You bet! And isn't it curious -or coincidental- that AF technology has matured along with us to the point that it mostly works pretty well right when our aging eyes start to need it? Might be something to ponder, Frank... 🙂

If variety is the spice of life and photo gear is much like women, though safer, how could a M4 be too much like the others? Each does has their own subtle characteristics, no matter how similar.

Anyway, have fun with the M5 Frank. It is a great camera.
