The L35AF is a very nice camera that takes beautiful pictures, but it's noisy and slower which is typical of AF cameras from the mid-80s. The Stylus Epic is really a great choice but obviously has no manual anything. It does have a spot meter though, and it's easily pocketable and less than $100.

My vote goes to Contax G1 plus Biogon 28mm.
There are Fuji Klasse line, but they are a bit over priced,,,, and difficult to get it in the US...

decently priced GR1(s/v) do come up on ebay -- i found a ex+ condition GR1v with a BIN price well under $400 (with case, hood, manual, and a roll of film, hehehe) a little while back. not cheap, but certainly well below the usual $550-700 that they seem to go for, not to mention the Klasse ($700-900) or the TC-1 ($800-1600).
The Rollei 35AFM seems to be uncommon but reasonably priced ($300-400) when they come up. The older Klasses (which is what the Rollei AFM is) can sometimes be found sub-$500 too, but these are the ones with the focusing wheel on the front (where the exposure compensation is on later models). I think the lens is the same, however, and seems to be sharp and beautiful. I was about to buy an older Klasse when the GR1v came up...

May I recommend the Fuji super mini DL. It has a very sharp 28mm lens and manual/snap focus abilities. Can't remember the top ISO. It is among the smallest film compacts and was a mid 90'ies top of the line compact, although it lacks aperture control like the GR, 35ti, T2 et al. Pops up at the bay from time to time, around $100 I think.

Thanks, I bought the Nikon L35 AF and I'm really pleased with its performance. Its not for action or low light but it has a wonderful lens and its metering is impeccable.
I posted a couple of shots taken with it in this thread: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66754

The Yashica GL model goes up to 1600 ASA and a 40mm 1.7 lens but they are hard to find and a bit pricey when you do. I bought one off ebay for only $10 but it was broken, which I knew. Im saving up to have it sent out to be revived.

I just snapped up a GR1 on ebay for $300 which is i think less than $200 for the ebay price... then add up the microsoft 25% discount, so it was a pretty decent price for a mint copy. Now, i am getting rid of my Natura Classica! Anyone want ;-)

You have the Natura? I have always been curiouss about them. What made you go with the GR1 over the Natura?
