Hi again. I'm interested in a old summilux that appears in ebay. The lens is that model adapted for the M3 camera, with the eyeglasses, etc. My question is: I'ma owner of a M4. It will run O.K. with my Leica?. Is possible to get out the eyeglasses ring?..
Thanks
sorry for my english
regards from spain

You can use on the M4, but will need to retain the eyeglass ring or 'goggles' as it won't focus properly wihout them. Are you sure you mean Summilux, not Summaron, though?

I had the goggled Summilux 35 for a while and it worked fine with my M2. The Cameraquest site confirms that it works fine with all subsequent M cameras (check here: http://www.cameraquest.com/mlenses.htm). You shouldn't take the goggles off even if using it with a non-M3 Leica, for the reasons stated by Paul above. As a bonus, when you use the goggled Summilux 35 with any M camera other than the M3, the closest focusing distance is .65m compared to 1m on the M3 and later versions of the lens.
