like how do you XPan guys get the developed, uncut roll of film out of the canister upon delivery? Seems like it is a scratch waiting to happen! I cannot get the film out easily.

Upon delivery to where? If 'it' is a photolab, they just crack the canister open from the ends; if you develop your own film either do as they do or use a film leader retriever like the one at b&h here.

Sorry, I thought it was obvious - when I get my "Developed" film back from the lab they give back it to me rolled up, uncut in the plastic film "canister". The "cartridge" is long gone at that point! :D

Maybe other labs give you back the developed film in a different way?

I get my film back in a sleeve. Usually hanging when I go to pick it up and they hand it to me. Do you send your's out and get it back that way in the mail? The strip should be sleeved not just rolled up and put into a film can.

I am taking it to the 1HR place for C-41, I guess that is the issue. My 120 comes sleeved from the pro shop. I'll ask if there is another way for the quick shp to deliver it.

Thanks!

I ask for mine sleeved and uncut, with a cd. $3.50 for processing. A CD of the xpan images is $6.99. Local lab and quite accomodating. They do this for E6 as well as C-41. I love the E-6. I do my own B&W.

I think thats my problem - going to a 1hr place (Ritz). The pro lab I recently started using returns my 120 in sleeves and gets E-6 done same day, so I migh just use them...

Thanks

how good are the scans from E6? Minilabs scanns film quite good, but slides use to get alot of contrast and hard to get the right colors.
