I bought an old Zorki 4 ( just for the lens )
The body wasn't too bad, but the shutter was sticking, and the finder needed a good clean. So I decided to 'have-a-go' !
I stripped it down, cleaned all the gears with lighter fluid, lubricated everything up, cleaned out the finder and it all seems to be working very smoothly. But as it had only cost me a few pounds and I had an hour or so to myself...I did this !!
Not one for the purists, I know, but had fun doing it

Now that camera is suited for Black and White!

Well, it wasn't as though you "defaced" a rare camera so why not! Can't make up my mind if I like it or not but it's certainly distinctive. Unlikely to get you noticed as a "serious" photographer either, that might come in handy.

Although I honestly don't like these colors on this camera. I really appreciate your workmanship, well done

I like it as well! And if bgb means painting the engraving, I think that would look pretty as well.

Good for you. Its wonderful to see these old cameras get a new life, just for the love of it.
