I dunno, a nice Nikon F certiantly would be a good replacement for the Canon F1

Eric, Eric, Eric what is wrong with you? A Nikon F would be a good addition to the Canon F1. You have much to learn about GAS, young one.🙂

Joe, a Bessa R would be just fine for your Nokton 1.5. Having recently bought an R3A, I note that iti is not so different from the Bessa R. Yes the R is a little noisier, but very little and so what! At $249.00 You can't go wrong.

Joe, I'm in shock!!! 😀 😀 😀

But seriously, I do seem to remember you mentioning an interest in acquiring a black ZI at least once or twice. Maybe you should send one of your CLs my way to help finance the purchase. Just here to help. :angel:

Joe,

Go for the Bessa T. At first sight, it doesn't look very attractive, but:

- it's compact and light;

- the bright rangefinder's 1.5x magnification makes it the most precise and easy to focus camera of all the Bessas, and even better than a .72 M6 -- that's a good point for the Noctilux you are longing for;

- the meter readout is at the back of the top plate of the camera, allowing you to meter and shoot from the hip with a wide angle, without even putting the camera to your eye -- that's a good point for this Ultra Wide Heliar you will buy in the near future;

- and, last but not least, you can get one for $185 from Stephen Gandy -- now that's a bargain...

Cheers,

Abbazz

very kind of you rafael.
i would love a black zi but that must wait for the inevitable lottery win🙂

take a look at my signature and you will see how i have squared this in my head (my therapist would be so proud).

the zm 25/35/50 with the zi which will be shared in a seperate kit with the fast cv 28 & 50. both kits will share the 90/2.8 as needed.

the cl's remain unchanged, one with the 21 the other with the 40 and they share the slower 90 but smaller 90.

i am again, at peace.

but then i need to buy a 28 and a 50 finder...more money needed.

joe, i'm sure you wouldn't be interested in a mint CL that was recently CLA'd by DAG with a meter recalibration to use modern batteries.. so I won't even mention it

Instead of buying more cameras I got rid of several. Gave my 15 year old the Petri and Minolta 7sII since she's been asking and sold several others today.
I'll probably take the money and buy more though..
Got my eye on a Zorki 3 with J-8...😛

🙄 I am thinking that you really need to try every camera with about every lense ever made. After all you are a RFF figurehead. It'll do us all proud. Oh ya every colour too.🙂

Oh, no, do you know how expensive the gold special editions are?

That would be quite a mission. Better crank out those nudes, Joe...

Ever see that show on A&E called Intervention?

We may need that here. At some point, when you appear to be bent on a path that will eventually lead you to buying a camera body for every lens because you can't bear the thought of using your 25 on the same camera that you use for your 28, you need a room full of RFF.com members ready to hug you and put you on a plane bound for some new facility set up to cure GAS.

brett, i have 2 nearly as you describe already...one was recently cla'd with a meter calibration and the other looks new and has a mercury battery in it and and adapter in the wings for when needed.

i like the general drift of this but i'm not comfortable with the figure head thing.
i like to see myself as the power behind the throne...😉
