i think i want an xpro2

I have the XP2 and I definitely wouldn't call it "bulky". Its about the same size and weight as Panasonic's GX8, another camera with a built-in viewfinder, but with only a m4/3 sensor. I think Fuji has done a fantastic job incorporating an APS-C sensor, an optical viewfinder, AND an electronic viewfinder all in a body that's even a bit thinner than the Panasonic.

Well, the GX8 is a new body and there has been a slight move towards bigger mirrorless bodies after the initial habit of everyone making everything too small. The X-Pro2 ais one of the biggest mirrorless cameras made. I like it for this reason. I was shocked to see Panasonic went that route too.

As far as APSC... the X-Pro2 holds it own very well vs. my Nikon DSLR, so that old argument we can agree on. I'm thankful for the X-Pro2.

I was at the shop yesterday to see if the hand grip improved the feel. It did, but not enough. And I don't like how the thumb rest feels.

What I like:
Fast focusing
Joystick focus point selector
24mp

I'll be waiting for the X-T2 and new vertical grip.

You need to try it with MHG-Xpro2 grip....Fuji knows how to produce nice add on grips

Yep, that's the grip I tried on it. Makes an improvement and I dig the built in arca Swiss compatible mount. But I'm still not sold. I'm being stingy for sure :)

There has been no recent rumor talk at all.
Fingers crossed

I bought the XP2 because of its stepped up benefits vis-a-vis the previous generation. And it does deliver.
Truth is, though, I rarely use the OVF.

My hope has been for an E3 incorporating the goodness of the XP2 along with the preferred form (to me) of the E2.

My preference is to sell the XP2 and E2 and then buy two E3's.
If no E3 materializes, sell the E2 and buy another XP2.

Goal: two state of the art, identical Fuji bodies.

The adjustable diopter is the only feature I lust for. The other updated features of the XP2 over the XP1 aren't that important to me.

Just as I did with the XP1, I'll probably wait until it's being discontinued and buy an XP2 at a close-out price.
