I am having a wierd problem with my Bessa R2a, which otherwise has been running okay for about 8 months.

I took it out to take a photo yesterday, pressed the shutter and nothing happened.

The batteries are working, as the LED's in the viewfinder light up.
Shutter lock is definitely off as I can fully depress the shutter button yet no picture is taken.
The film is also wound on (I can't wind the film advance lever any further).
Taking off the lens, both shutters are down (the grey and black ones) and when I pressed the shutter button I can hear a really faint click coming from inside the camera, yet nothing happens.

Any ideas?
This is really frustrating as I just bought a Nokton and I am dying to use it!
Thanks in advance,
Jamie.

Rewind you film back into the cassette and take it out of the camera. Save your shots! After each of these below try to see if it works again.

Take the batteries out and replace them with a new set with good dates on the box
Open the back and look to see if you are spinning the take-up spool when you try to wind the shutter.
Fiddle with the sprocket wheel and take up spool manually.
Change the shutter speed to a manual one and try it.
Try bulb and see if it works.
Cross fingers, toes and eyes and try it

I do not own a RxA so I’m not sure what else.

Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately I just tired all of them, and still the same problem. I also notice now that the film rewind button (on the bottom of the camera) is stuck in, so I have an inkling that something has disconnected inside the camera with regards to filmwinding/shutter firing.
Time to send it off for repair under warranty I reckon!
Thanks,
J.
