Where is the M9 in the poll?
Back when I had my 21mm f/2.8 ZM Biogon I used it on an RD1 then M8 then M9. It was a fantastic lens.

I would think that it fits in the Leica digital FF section Phil.

I use my Zeiss lenses on M cameras, Zeiss ZM and various Bessa cameras - and also the Zeiss C Sonnar 50f1.5 in S-mount on the Nikon Rf's. Here on a Olympic Nikon S3. I took off the hood for the shot - but otherwise, always a hood on it.

I wonder why the majority uses Zeiss lenses with film cameras. I shoot the 2/35 on the M8 and am very happy with it. Are Zeiss lenses suited better for film than digital sensors (like the wideangles of Zeiss)?

I usE both a ZM 35 f 2.8 and a 50 f 1.5 but really prefer the 35 perspective.

I'll go along with you, using Zeiss lenses on the M8, a fine combination. The 4/18mm, 4.5/21mm, 2.8/25mm, both 35 Biogons, 2/50mm and 1.5/50mm all work wonderfully and I like the look and performance.I wonder why the majority uses Zeiss lenses with film cameras. I haven't tried the wider Zeisses on full-frame digital yet, just the 35's and 50's. I used the 50 C-Sonnar on an M240 almost exclusively on a recent Hawaii trip, very pleased with the results. Pics in my Gallery...
