Where is the M9 in the poll?

Back when I had my 21mm f/2.8 ZM Biogon I used it on an RD1 then M8 then M9. It was a fantastic lens.

I use my Zeiss lenses on M cameras, Zeiss ZM and various Bessa cameras - and also the Zeiss C Sonnar 50f1.5 in S-mount on the Nikon Rf's. Here on a Olympic Nikon S3. I took off the hood for the shot - but otherwise, always a hood on it.

I wonder why the majority uses Zeiss lenses with film cameras. I shoot the 2/35 on the M8 and am very happy with it. Are Zeiss lenses suited better for film than digital sensors (like the wideangles of Zeiss)?

I'll go along with you, using Zeiss lenses on the M8, a fine combination. The 4/18mm, 4.5/21mm, 2.8/25mm, both 35 Biogons, 2/50mm and 1.5/50mm all work wonderfully and I like the look and performance.

I haven't tried the wider Zeisses on full-frame digital yet, just the 35's and 50's. I used the 50 C-Sonnar on an M240 almost exclusively on a recent Hawaii trip, very pleased with the results. Pics in my Gallery... :)
