Just bought a 3170 to scan my medium format FILM negs and a couple bulk rolls of Neopan 1600 to play with. All of which is to say - I DONT FREAKIN CARE - I'M still BUYING film. And Using it too.

Apologies to anyone who now has the stupid song stuck in their head.

Six months ago I bought an Epson 4180 and it cost me the the equivalent of US$400. Got it to scan the negatives shot with my $25 to $50 Russian Zorki, FED, and Lubitel...haven't shot real film on 'serious' (by conventional standards) cameras...and BTW, did I say that the film I use are mostly in-store respools or cheap housebrands....🙂...now what was that song which got stuck?

Same here. Got a DiMage Scan Dual 3 when it was the latest greatest, new! And why? Because my HP S20 had given the ghost. What did I scan with it? Cheap iso400 colour neg films. Tons of it. 🙂 Then I bought the R-D1. 'Nuf said. 😛

thanks for putting that song into my head.. it displaced the one that was previously jammed in there for the past 3 days.. "Rock 'n Roll Love Letter" by the Bay City Rollers.. Prince is a big improvement

Still confused about the original song reference, apparently Prince. Don't know the Bay City Rollers song, but equally poisonous would be "Delta Dawn" by Helen Reddy, or "Hot Child in the City" by Nick Gilder. Sorry, couldn't resist! 😀

In other words. I don't really care IF the world (Film) is coming to an end. I'm just gonna keep on buying and shooting film. (Party like it's 1999).

Yesterday (Monday) I went to the camera store around the corner from my office. It is actually an outlet of a large local dealer. It doesn't stock a lot of inventory (I guess because they can get everything in a coupld of hours from their main location).

I went there to drop off a roll of XP-2 (some of the pics of which I uploaded last night) for a D.O. w/index card. In front of me was a fellow dropping off five rolls of film. After I was done, there was another with three rolls to drop off.

Hey, like Arlo Guthrie said in another context, maybe we're a "movement"! 😀

Add that's just what we're going to call it: the Assorted Film Shooter's Anti-Film-Biz-Massacree Movement, and it'll start as soon as I pick up my lil' Hexar...now, where'd I put that thing...

Asked for - and got - a Minolta Dual Scan IV for Christmas. In other words, despite digital SLR I also got that I wasn't expecting, I still intend to shoot film until they pry it from my cold dead hands!

You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant....
