I was in Heaven!

A friend of my father who had a photo store closed down his shop. I went to visit him and I was charmed by the plethora of equipment he has in boxes and shelves, new, not sold. I had a extreme pleasure of opening a NEW G-mount Carl Zeiss 21mm f2.8 and Contax G2. I had goose bumps. He has boxes of Minox cameras, legendary Noblex cameras, Nikon F, Mamiya, Bronica, Cosina, Tamron and Leica equipment, all new. He was Turkey distributor of all those brands.

After all he showed me his personal collection of vintage cameras. I immediately grabbed the box written leica on it 🙂 He has several black-chrome Leica screw mount cameras with summars, elmars...He still does not know the complete list 🙂 We could not finish...He is an active photographer too.

I wanted to show my photos showing some of equipments he has and some example photos from summars and elmars mounted on my sony nex...Enjoy...

I dont know the reason why he is closing but I felt sad too. He has an art gallery now and those stuff are in one of the rooms back. I told him that some stuff are rare to find new, like G2 and G lenses and Nikon F stuff.

To my opinion, he can not sell those anywhere but on internet...The film photography in Turkey is very close to be dead...I hardly found decent films. I went to amateur photography societies they closed down all of the dark rooms. I had tough time to find a film tank to borrow...🙁

Maybe you could offer represent him as seller of some of his gear here on RFF, or eBay. I'm sure there are many people who may be interested in buying , hint, hint 🙂

Or at least give us a heads-up when and where he's offering items for sale.

Well guys he first needs to realize that he can not sell them for the prices he wants 🙂 The prices were quite higher than normal, as an example, I asked for G2, it is equivalent to ~1300$. He was asking me my opinion, I did not want to be rude so I did not comment. You can get second hand G2 for 400-600$, a new would be 900$ max to my opinion.

p.s. for the admins, I have no intention to represent him here anyhow. My reason to start this thread is just the excitement to see all those equipments.

oh my God... I live in turkey and I would love to visit the store. but more importantly, i would like to ask you if you know of a place i can buy 35mm slide film such as fuji provia 100F. I have been in turkey for about 5 months... near adana and mersin. i visit istanbul quite regularly but have not had a chance to find out hte camera and photography centers.

Asim, the store is in Ankara. If you come, let me know. It is hard to find film, provia would be near impossible, maybe in istanbul. But this store has slide equipments like slide trays and mounts.

p.s. I remembered that I might have seen some sensia in a store in ankara.
