Thanks a lot, folks. It really feels nice to have a community like you to share this things with. In the greater scheme of things, this is just a drop in a bucket, but you guys add the flavor and spice to make it even better.
One consequence I'm enjoying: my wife was really impressed. Being, as she is, my toughest critic, I'm quite delighted.
Right now, my dad is visiting here from Guatemala and we're busy taking him places and keeping him entertained. He'll return on Saturday, and then I'll see to scan the pics as soon as possible. Of course, they'll be in the exhibit hall tomorrow, so I'll run to take a look at them!

That's such a great occasion. Film is so alive and kickin'
hear hear!
True... film is very much alive!
As for GAS (ahem)... I already did.
A newer, better maintained, nicer looking and fresher Nikon F100 is now in my collection. I had another, but I sold it last Monday to a friend whose own F100 is in the fritz (while the box with my newer F100 was waiting for me at the doorstep). Now he has two: one for color and one for black & white. My new body has not only the DK6 eyecup, but also the E-type screen, the one with gridlines. And not a whole lot later came a Nikon Speedlight SB-30, which is designed for use with bodies without a built-in fill flash (like the F100).
But I purchased these things last week. Should I see them as pre-celebrations or do I go and indulge in real celebration GAS?

I think you really deserved this after all the work and enthusiasm you put on it
And to impress Frances was a nice bonus as well. It may be a good time to finally get that M2

Was that not the thread about the town that produces barbed wire?
Or was that someone else?

You're right, Kevin, DeKalb is the cradle (sp?) of barbed-wire, hybrid corn and, for a while, of Wurlitzer organs and jukeboxes (their production here ended in 1982).
I just come from seeing the exhibit... it's strange to see one's pictures along some very impressive photos there. And, of course, they have the historical images (drawn from archives and dated from 1891 to 1957). This is a small town, but it's had a very intense life!
An M2, Oscar... Heck! I have a black MR meter now. It's high time for an M4-2 or M4-P
But first there's a matter of water in the basement...
Thanks for your comments! And, alas, no, I'm not going pro, but I'm feeling kinda compensated now... Like a purchase of film won't be frowned upon no more.

Congrats, Francisco! I haven't been to RFF for a few weeks due to connection problems, so this is great news for me.
Where's the exhibition, and what are the hours? I'll take a drive out.

Hi, Ken! I hadn't seen you for a while...
The exhibit is at the Nehring Center, in downtown DeKalb. It's open from 11 AM to 1 PM throughout the week... Yes, I know these are weird hours.
Let me know when you come. If it's before August 10th we may catch a pint of focusing fluid at a place nearby!
Nothing beats the heat better than focusing fluid...
