Ten cameras are coming to my house in a couple weeks. Now that I can actually post the list without someone going to look for it, here's the motherload:

Argus C4 in really very nice condition. Comes with a 50mm lens, a nice looking case (stitching is coming undone in areas), flash, and instructions.

Bilora Bella – very pretty in nice condition – case shows wear though

Voightlander – Vito CLR – Pretty, meter works – shutter doesn’t.

Kodak Box camera – 50th anniversary – brown – a little rough.

Kodak Vest Pocket – cute with stylus – A little rough looking – works.

Olympus Pen EE – ½ frame – rough looking – seems to work.

Canon Demi – ½ frame – rough looking – seems to work.

Bolsey B2 – Finish is rough – seems to work.

Meopta Flexaret Automat – nice looking – shutter doesn’t work – missing a small piece on the shutter selector and some kind of plate on the back of the camera.

Yashica MG1 – pretty but the shutter doesn’t fire.

Only three out of the ten don't work and there are some nice examples of older rangefinders AND other 35mm gems there. The real finds are the two half-frames and the Voigtlander, all of which I've been trying to find for a while at decent prices.

I'm excited. This will be my last purchase of cameras, under penalty of a butt-kicking by my boyfriend, before getting my M2 around Christmas time. I'll also be trying to work on the three that don't work myself as well as recovering some of the ones that need it.

I have the bug, guys. And you started it. :p

Congrats! That's quite an assortment; if there's a camera that (imo) would warrant attention first of the lot that needs the shutter fixed, if you can afford it, is the Vito. :) :)

The Vito is the one I'm going to take a look at first. I'm going to see if it's just stuck or if it actully needs a replacement...in which case it'll go to the place recommended to send it for repair. I'm so excited. I'm sending the money order out tomorrow!

Actually there was a leica IIIc last night that had some brassing, no lens a few tiny dings and an operational shutter at $29.00 US. No one grabbed it. I meant to. I forgot about it and found it later in my "ended" list.

Congratulations, Stephanie! I'm excited for you too. I hope you get all of those cameras snapping! This project should keep you busy for a while. Please let us know how they look once you get them and the progress you make with them. BTW, I'm very impressed with your tastes and sensibilities vis a vis traditional, classic cameras.

That Leica page had the note "The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing." LIke maybe the decimal was off by one place.

Stephanie -- Great score! Too bad the Flexaret isn't working. Great cameras! The half frames should be a lot of fun.

Sorry Steph, can't do it. I gave you my view earlier. Your money is your money, and once you've made a decision, I'll support you.

Unless you want me to scold you, you BAD girl! ;)

Congratulations Stephanie! Its a very nice lot of cameras! IMHO, the two cameras you would pay some attention first are of course the Vito CLR, and the Meopta Flexaret Automat (or Flexaret VII). This last is AFAIK as good as any Yashica TLR, and some opinions I´ve heard say "as good as any Rollei, but way way cheaper". My girlfriend has one (non functional) and I would put my dirty hands on it very soon (even if its not an RF!). I´m going to take as many pictures as possible with my small Digital when attempting to fix the shutter, so if You want I can post them (or email). Good Luck again!

Stephanie:

The Brown Kodak Brownie Camera may be a special model.

Yours is one of those is it has an embossed gold colored seal on one side. Most of them have rubbed down, but there should be an inscription on the seal. I’m not claming that it has a lot of monetary value (it’s probably worth anywhere from $5 - $15) but it is also not your run of the run of the film Brownie.

My mother-in-law gave me hers many years ago.

Okay. Now you guys are supposed to scold me when I try and buy anything besides my M2. I cannot use my camera savings that I start with my next paycheque for anything but my M2.

Also, I'll know more about what I need to do to the Meopta and the Vito when I get the box. I should be able to fix them or at least find the parts to do so.
