Looking at this patent, makes me wonder if the sd family may end up being a ff foveon design that is a blend of the Quattro plus this patent about highlight photo site, similar to their old SR design. But also maybe more than current 20+5+5 design in terms of photo cell sites on the sensor, which is why I am thinking FF to keep noise issue down.

Btw.. I am perfectly happy w/ apsc sensor size that the sd1m already offers.. Right now I have a mix of lenses for it that are both apsc and ff designs.. Just thinking in terms of how they used the old sr style tech where half of their photo cell sites were normal vs other.. So would they keep it at current design or up the cell density to prevent any wired jagged look when the other sites are disabled.
