Terrific detective work, I used to stay in Paris quite often and begin to miss it more, my friends there seem to be moving around more and more to enjoy the grandchildren. They have a print of this image.
Paris is of course a great place for shooting.
BTW, I see Herb is on FB. I know he sometimes carried a Leica, but I think one of the last things I saw mentioned he is shooing with an 8x10 for Platinum printing. I also recall he did a nice series of bridges in Paris using a Fuji 6x17.
I wonder how long the mystery would have gone on had I not "ruined" it, it is great you found the location, it reminded me of some areas in the 5th Arr., but I did not spend time in Issy.
