Ideas for first FSU RF ?

Hi i'm new here and also new to RF photography. I'm thinking of getting into them and I like the idea and prices of the FSU cameras. Any ideas as to which one I should go with ?
Thanks
Holgaguy😕

When buying FSU cameras, particularly from ebay, this is kind of a rule of thumb: The ones that look worn have been used a lot and usually work as they should. However, nine out of ten of the ones that look nice have not been used because they don't work right. The exceptions to that last are those that have been reworked (Fedka, Kiev USA, and a few of the more competent tinkerers).

Buy a Fed 2.

I love Kievs but since this is the first one sistemistic is probably right: a fed-2 will probably work out of the box and it's indeed a very nice camera..

Also Picasso choose a Fed-2 😀

Zorki 6! Im surprised more people don't like this camera. If you forget to wind it before changing the shutter speed it won't break. It has a hinged back, a winding lever, and a nice viewfinder.

I know it doesn't have the slow speeds below 1/30, but I wouldn't try hand holding anything slower than that anyway. I have one with a jupiter 8, and when I get the exposure correct, it takes great pictures. I have one in black and it looks pretty sweet, too.

Fedka had mine serviced and the other one from Alex was supposedly CLA`d .
He has a price list for servicing and I think it is $70-80 for a Kiev.

Yeah, I saw that. I was hoping there was a cheaper solution. For the cost ofthe CLA, I can buy a new body from Fedka. I play with it a bit more and either splurge on a Fedka 4AM or religate the Kiev to my shelf to gather dust. Too bad.

Rf ??

Rf ??

Fed 2, Kiev IV, Iskra 1 (medium format) are my favorite, but the point is the confidence you have in the seller. Soviet camera and Fedka, you can trust them I think....
