A question for those of you who are good at indentifying lenses:

What was the attached shot with? It was either a J8 or an old M-mount Elmar.

I can't remember what I had with me that day, and am not always so hot at this game.

I think I know which it was, but I'd like to hear your thoughts also, please.

Thanks.

The background looks "too out-of focus" to be F3.5. I'm thinking the Jupiter wide-open. At F2.8 or F3.5, the girl on the left would be less out of focus.

If it helps, the Elmar is a 2.8.
/says nothing else in case of influencing the masses.

This is quite close to playing Roulette, I mean a scan on a monitor, postproc and so on...
I would second Brians opinion tho, owning a J8 myself I would say rather f2,8 than f4 not sure tho.

Assuming that you haven't done any digital manipulation, that you exposed and developed the film in the same way that I would have, and that it isn't cropped, I think you used the Jupiter-8 rather than the Leitz Elmar. Looks like an f4 shot.

I agree with bertram. And the photo seems to have the look of my J-8 lenses.

Ta all.

I was well aware of the limitations of the presentation - let's just say I'm not aiming for academic rigour here 🙂

I reckoned the J8 myself, so that's what we'll call it 😀

Thanks again.
