This was a surprisingly useful article about what to do: https://www.boredpanda.com/what-to-do-when-winning-lottery-blakeclass/
In short: Get a lawyer (or team of lawyers, honestly); give to friends/family only through trust funds, not actual cash; and use very safe Treasury bill-based index funds to pay yourself a sensible annual "wage." And probably go into hiding for a year or so too.
I live in Silly-Con Valley. People with this kind of money, and more, are not so uncommon here. Sadly, I'm not one of them.

Travel, especially to all the gallery vernissages (opening nights) I could physically get to. Also to a lot of thermal springs.
Whatever's left when I pop my clogs (or Frances pops hers, if I go first) goes to our daughter.
She's a sensible young woman: she can decide where the rest goes.
Cheers,
R.

I reckon most of us have had a narrow escape as money only brings problems...
Seems about 70% of lottery winners go bankrupt within 5 years.

Well everyone is entitled to his opinion, even if mine is a bit twisted.
OUCH, are you a cynic, a debbie downer, ??
Rather mean spirited and judgemental for a person thinking about ‘karma’

I had today some thoughts about the $1.6 Billion. Why not have it instead 1000 winners of $1.6 Million. Really ... why not? More people will be happy. $1,600,000
is a lot of money. Or, 1,000,000 winners of $1,600.

There are other tiers of winners... that`s just the top prize. Based on odds, you can`t make it easy to win. It wasn`t won in a long time, that is why it was so high.

Then have more "other tiers of winners"?
Then have more "other tiers of winners"?
It`s a nice thought, but then nobody would play...

According to that...there were 36 $1,000,000 winners this time...
