If your camera was a car, what would it be?

My M2's are similar to Land Rover series II/III. However dented and dinged, it keeps working. Nothing extra on it - just what you need.
The M6/MP's would be more like Mrcedes 300GD's - kind of fancy but still sturdy and able to take a beaiting if needed.
Nikon Rf's - no automotive eqivalent - maybe Land Cruiser.
Nikon F - F series 150 Ford Pick Up from the 70's!

Given the loud noise my M8 makes when fired I would say a "cluncker" - which pretty accurately describes its sound!

My M5 would be the body of a DeLorean, the wiring of a modern Toyota, and the engine of a Zonda. Unless it's in a dark articially-lit room with TriX it'd be akin to the body of a DeLorean the everything else of one too.

My M2s are both Toyota Land Cruisers 60 series or maybe earlier

Your picture of the PZKW IV reminds me of a wonderful quote by a German military historian. Writing about the manner in which Germany threw aside its armour and aerial lead by building fewer, more powerful tanks and aircraft, while the allies produced ever more tanks and planes that were "just good enough", he described Hitler as "the best of all the allied generals". Arthur C Clarke penned a short SciFi story which satirised that viewpoint very amusingly.
😉

I suppose the Panzer represents my M5 well enough 😛

My Fujica G690 definitely is a series Land Rover - chassis rather roughly manufactured, quirky to use compared to most other cars, always something which is a little out of whack, while still leaving it eminently usable.

Make it a Series I, come to think of it - parts are becoming hard to find at sensible prices, as well.

Yup. Definitely a Series I Land Rover. It's got its quirks, is moody as ****, outperformed by most of the competition by most objective criteria - but I still wouldn't trade it for anything else, period.

Oh, and there's nothing quite like it, either, except for its siblings, the GL690 and the G690BL - and you can still see lots of its DNA in the current-ish G(S)W690.
