Hello classic Leica aficionados! Does anyone know what is up with the shutter dial on this camera? Is this a dial from a non-Leica camera Frankensteined on?

It is a dial that is part of a flash sync set up, it would have had a piece slid into the accessory shoe which would have had a protruding cam designed to come into contact with the modified dial as it spun.
There were a number of manufacturers of this bit of kit in a number of different designs. Pretty sure Leitz made one too

Interesting, so this could be a Leitz mod, or possibly a part from a 3rd party flash sync mod? Thanks for this information!

On reflection I doubt it it Leitz, BTLOO, from memory, clamps over the original dial.

Looks like a pretty good match to the Leica design and finish.
