Recently I bit the bullet and bought a really nice (cosmetically, anyway) IIIF RD ST and just sent it away for a CLA.

One thing I've been wondering about is just how far the diopter adjuster lever is supposed to move. On mine it went about 1/8 of a turn or less - in other words, a lot less than there's room for it to move. I downloaded a PDF of the manual and while it showed the lever with an arrow it did not indicate stop points at either end.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

TIA,
Scott

Just eyeballing it with a protractor, centered on the rewind knob and the base square to the camera back, the center of the lever rests about 20 degrees from horizontal (just ahead of the strap lug), and moves to about 45 degrees from the horizontal (the movement stopping well before the arrow). So it shouldn't move very far.
