I'd like to spend some days again in Lisbona (what a city!) and then move to south;
does anyone has any advice about "non touristical" places to see and photograph? is it useful to rent a car?
some tips about shooting (... I can't ask anything about gear to bring because I have only one... 😀 )?
Thanks.
Nico

I like the south west coast - there are some dramatic cliffs and beaches.

Silves (castle) and Monchique (cork forests and hill scenery) are in the hills inland along the Algarve coast and are worth a visit if you are in the area. I have a couple of photos of Silves in my gallery. All taken with a Canonet GIII 17.

RFF member Jon Claremont may be able to help also.

I hope you enjoy the trip.

Sagres at sunset. Salema is a sleepy beach town. Ohlao, Evora. I think a car is a must in the south. Take a drive along the coast and see what you find--towns are quite close together.

Enjoy our trip--it's a beautiful country.

The former grounds of the 'Expo 98', now called 'Nations Park' (Parque das Nações) is definately worth a visit, especially if you are into modern architecture. It also has a nice selection of bars and restaurants and there is usually something happening there most days.

I had forgotten about Ohlao and Evora - both worth visiting. Faro town is also nice.

QUOTE=Jon Claremont]You are Italian so it's safe to rent a car. You know already how to avoid their crazy driving.

Also, try Evora. Look Up the old university.

I've already been in Portugal (from Lisbon to Oporto) some years ago but I forgot their crazy driving...it's true Jon, now I remeber I noticed the way they drive... 😀.
I think you're right, italian drivers are just quite the same, so I should be trained!

Thanks everybody for your precious tips, they're very useful!
