Time to dust off my CLA'd Beauty Super L, to see if I can still cope with a 50/1.9 equipped RF (too many years with a D-Lux4 then 5) as I'd really like to replace the Leica M6 I parted with. Or maybe buy a used Nikon S3 instead. Limited budget to be born in mind... the used Nikon "Millennium" S3 + Nikkor 50/1.4 + VCll meter I priced up comes to £1566 against £1998 for an M6 and 50mm Summilux. With a combination of having already owned an M6 and advice gleaned from the Nikon RF forum (thanks to TomA, RanceEric & Frontman) it looks as though the S3 "set" is most likely to head the wish-list.

Got an M8. Got out all the 1980 lenses and put the digi Nikons away temporarily. Am using it with 12/15/21/28/35/50/75/90/mm lenses, all Leica except 12/15 CV.

The Nikon would be a good choice. From the photo's I've see from Tom A. that Nikkor 50/1.4 is top notch. Welcome to the forum BTW.

If you don't mind a very restricted lens choice and and ergonomics that many find gruesome, go for the Nikon. Have you ever actually used one? They're very pretty, but you need a certain mind-set to prefer one over a Leica. I'd back the M6 hands down.

Agree with Roger; for a while I had an S3-2000 and loved the looks and the fine build, plus the 50mm lens is great. But I think Nikon made a mistake in adopting that lens mount design with the integrated focus helix. IMO, Leica did better with the M series.
