In and around the house

Hello from Australia where of course we have a snake for every occasion. Just as I was about to go to bed one night last week a Brown Tree Snake fell from the rafters of my house hanging onto a Velvet Gecko and landed on the lounge chair beside me. The Gecko population in my house is kept in check by regular visits from the local tree snakes so this has become a relatively common event over the years. (Samsung phone pic) 🙂

Nikon FM2n, AI Nikkor 50mm f/1.8S, Kentmere Pan 400, developed in LegacyPro L110 at 1:31 for 5.5 minutes. Three individual black and white frames shot through Tiffen #25 Red, #58 Green, and #47 Blue filters, respectively, then combined using GIMP to create a trichrome color image.

Q2 just works.
antique s&p shakers hand-painted c1890s from Missouri
I think the one on the right was original salt shaker because of more worn paint where they would grab it daily, and they changed the top to the other one to prolong the paint and maybe prolong the top, seeing how the salt corroded it. (not sure if it's tin/pewter/lead)

horizontal symmetry lines ask curiosity as 'why' if made in 1890 could show those lines. maybe image stamped on glass first before hand-painting..not sure.

edit: apparently they turned these on a lathe on production line to paint first layer and other over-layers of the finish-coat which makes sense with brush marks turned on a lathe vs by hand.
