My little Buddha acolyte who sits by my front door. He started out as an inexpensive concrete statue which I carefully polychromed in the style of Asian statues and then distressed to make it look like it had spent a century sitting in an Asian temple where it was covered in incense smoke, dust and bird droppings though the accumulation of years. I even bought from an art supply store, appropriately colored powder to sprinkle onto the statue to create the correct dust effect. (So much more "artistic" than using actual dust
)
BTW I do not class my self as a Buddhist by any means but I do very much enjoy the aesthetics of Asian religious art which is quite often not only beautiful but brings a kind of serenity with it.
