In and around the house

The Camera Obscura project finally came to fruition. BCs raining season ended. A sunny day, some practice and a little post processing resulted in the digital photograph of the pinhole image made with a cardboard lens.

A handsome cat. Once, a colleague arrived with her Siamese cat in Bangkok Airport: the Customs Officer scanned the paperwork, opened the crate, peeked inside and said: "welcome home".

Yes she is a sweety. Love her dearly. Though she looks somewhat Siamese too, technically she is a Tonkinese which are always bred from one Siamese parent and one Burmese parent. They are said to have the best characteristics of both breeds and none or few of the flaws of either. Though I am aquainted with both breeds and am inclined to believe that neither have very many flaws to pass on, both breeds being very sweet animals with great temperaments.

As I write this I am lying in bed on my back with my knees raised, creating a tent from the blankets. She is lying in the "tent" purring. Though this brings to mind one flaw that could count against her. She has been known to bite me on the bum cheek when laying in this position. An act motivated I think by devilment and cat sense of humour rather than malice. She at least seems to enjoy the sport and think it amusing. Me not quite so much. Though my regard for her generally allows her to get away unscathed and quickly forgiven. The only other potential flaw is how vocal she is - very "talkative". A characteristic she inhereted from her Siamese parent, that breed also having a reputation for chattiness. As annoying as it can be when she is a mood to jibber jabber excessively for no apparent reason, I still take a kindly view of this as I mostly enjoy our conversations thoroughly. Cats are terrific little buddies in general I think.

Love your story about the Siamese cat returning to Thailand.

We don't often do nudes in this forum but here is one which fits the theme of this thread. My wife knows I made this shot as I showed it to her after processing it but I am still not totally sure she knows posted it at Flickr. (Shhh I won't tell her if you don't. :) Only kidding - she knows, I am not that brave.)
