This is a tow plane. I am in a two-man glider, being pulled behind it. This is the exact moment we started to leave the ground. This was shot through the thick canopy of the glider, hence the cool looking distortion.

These images come from a story I did about a 50 year old soaring club in Texas. I had never been in a glider before, and I do not like flying at all. But this really turned out to be one of the better stories I have covered. I had a great time.
