I just wanted to pass along praises for Don Goldberg at dagcamera.com. I know it’s been said many times before but for US Leica parts and service there is no better.

Case in point - I received a parts shipment today - M3 style film levers for my M6 cameras and a metal Leica lens cap for my iiic.

When I sent my original request to DAG I asked for a cap for the 50mm Summarit lens. DAG shipped a cap for the 50mm Summarit. OK, I don't have a Summarit I have a SUMMITAR! Totally my fault - I was typing on automatic and got it completely wrong when I sent the request.

I sent an apologetic email to Don and received a nearly immediate reply - "No problem, I'll send you the Summitar cap & send back the Summarit cap. No extra charge."

It doesn't get any better than that!
Thanks Don!

Replacing the film levers sounds like it is a snap, actually a twist... Here is a thread regarding it:

I'm still waiting on the .625" Flexiclamp from Micro-Tools to twist off the film lever retaining ring but it should show up on Tuesday. I tried various home-brew rubber gaskets, etc. with no luck so I'll be patient.

Gregg: i'll be interested to see the end result of the lever replacement. I ordered te flexiclamp from microtools with the intend of replacing the M6 lever with the M3 one. Please post some pics!
