Yesterday, I had to go to the hospital for a gastroscopy and a colonoscopy. Not a pleasant procedure, but necessary. I was reassured to see that all the optical equipment was Olympus. Not rangefinders, of course, but I'm enough of a Zuikoholic to hope they got some useful images. 😀

Sorry to hear that. Mostly these procedures are done to exclude possibilities rather than diagnose, so I suppose not finding anything can be viewed in a reasonably positive light. They took some biopsies, so I should have some results soonish.

Yes, Olympus is big in microscopy. This is actually a Craigslist ad for an Olympus 35mm camera for microscopy and astronomy:

The poster claims there's no shutter but there has to be one and the second photo looks like a shutter to me. I'm sure this analog camera has been replaced by digital for a while now.

I recommend everyone go for this procedure. In 2004 I went and the doctor found cancer which they easily removed, absolutely painless. Had it not been down I would have been dead by 2009 as per my internist.

I had this procedure recently, and was hoping for an Olympus, but got a Pentax. The doctor said everything was fine however.

What I hate about the procedure is I get sick from the anesthesia about five hours later. Hope your results are fine.

with the massive red dot adorning the machines.
