Hi to all,
Suddenly the main speed dial of my Leica IIIf became completely "mad". I can turn it even without wounding the shutter. The dial turns but it seems to be "disengadged" The shutter release button works and the shutter operate but I don't know at what speed. :bang:
Any suggestion?
Regards,
Arturo

As Fred has said the grub screws have probably come loose. Tighten the 3 screws and find B then loosen the screws and turn the dial to B and tighten.

Fred, Colyn,
Thanks for you reply. You're right. I have loose the 3 screws. So I can't tight them. The nightmare starts searching those kind of screws.

Arturo

How can you loose three screws at once? Probably two were already gone and you lost the last one now. A willing repairman will be able to send you three replacement screws so you can fix it yourself.

Thanks to all.
The camera needs servicing due a major problem with the shutter also.

The leica has been repaired. Here is an example of how it "works". This photo has been taken without being noticed in Madrid's Metro. Leica IIIf, Summar 50mm 1:2 and Kodak TriX ASA 400
