i agree. however, you didnt do that. you first expressed a single one sentence negative thought. had there been some context or other thoughts expressed i probably wouldve had no reaction, nor i surmise would the author.

i look at a post like your first one and i wonder is the thought behind it that this single sentence will cause the author to question what obviously was a very considered decision? that he'll say 'wow, X person simply said he hated the presentation so i,ll change it instantly'? what effect were you trying for with that single sentence?

to me, if one wants--actually and really wants--to contribute something of value, they must go beyond simply saying 'i hate it'. to me thats a troll comment, not a meaningful constructive criticism.

If there're at least one person who like the way I present the pictures, I guess it's reason enough to post some more.

I'm hoping those who hate it or are put off will notice it immediately and close their browser window or click back - the thread title should give one a hint on what's inside as well.

It's analogue, and I present the film material as it is and as close to analogue as I can get in the virtual world of the internet where you can't smell or touch things despite the film is real. Being in this environment in that sense the original borders and uncropped raw filmstrips visualized bring me closer to the feel of true analogue and a sense of the place seen through a film camera - a window of picture opportunity - in many levels, both artistically or technically, where all the hard work from the moment of time, composure, click, developing, scan & edit chain fuse together into a single system - the similar feel whether to look them from here or to go back to see them in my negative sleeves. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but this is how I work and how they work for me.

I'm retired and I'm still busy. Perhaps it's because I'm slowing down and don't realize it! On the phone, visiting with a car buff friend who is now in his 90s I asked, "Howard! How is life going for you?" He immediately said, "Bill, things are so slow that by the time I get the breakfast dishes done, I'm ready to eat lunch!"

I make photos but it's the process stage I put off. I need to get charged up and get things done. When I had my business really cooking, I farmed all that out!

And now I have my very first darkroom!

I simply adore simple people with a good will, not that I hate the rich, but there's something special about the former. A javanese lady who made me some decent home brewed Java coffee. Fortunately or unfortunately I only got a lo-fi shot from her, and I hoped to return this printed picture to her someday...

The red line's from a messed up roll of Kodak Aerochrome by the Fuji GA645i infrared film-spacing sensor (which of course is registered by an infrared film!). Oh why o why Fuji engineers had to put the infrared sensor in the centre, and not into the corner. I should have known better! I guess we live and learn - the GA645i is a fantastic camera, but it's NOT a camera for infrared films.

I had the following kit with me: Pentax 67ii with TTL prism, Pentax 67 with WLF, Fuji GA645i & Horizon 202, each to their own function considering their strenghts & weaknesses - from arty shots to documenting to panoramas. First two trips was there with Pentax Spotmeter V, third trip was with Gossen Profisix meter.

Lombokian people

Lombokian people

This is where the Sasaks store their rice for the year - they do not use irrigation methods on farming so they only get rice once a year. It's placed high up on poles so the rats don't get to eat their rice. Sasak live mainly on the island of Lombok, Indonesia, numbering around 2.6 million (85% of Lombok's population). They are related to the Balinese in language and race, although the Sasak are predominantly Muslim while the Balinese are Hindu.

I must remember that only positive comments can be posted here and anything contrary is "trollish'. I'm sorry I said anything.
