I recently bought an RD1 - arriving Thursday - and also purchased an Industar 61 52mm f/2.8 Lens m39 ltm lsm leica 50mm russian ussr lens. Will I need an adapter or does it fit directly on the RD1?

The Epson RD 1 is M mount and the I 61 l/d lens is LTM so you need a Leica screw to M mount adaptor, which is widely available for sale.

I use a cheap brass ltm-to-m adapter to mount a Jupiter-3 on my R-D1.
As the frame-lines aren't set by the adapter ring on the Epson R-D1 any LTM-to-M adapter ring should do fine to mount the I-61 on it.
Just keep in mind that focus between the two might be off slightly. This should be most obvious when shooting wide-open at the shortest focus distance. But I'm wouldn't worry about that too much.
Cheap focus rings might also have an adverse effect on focusing accuracy.
You know, I don't think I've ever actually used the I-61 on my R-D1. I should give it a try sometime.

Hi,
I was using one on my M9 recently with a cheap adapter and didn't have any problems. As Mr Flibble says, it might get critical at 1 m and wide open but most lenses are and everything, including the range finder, has to be spot on. OTOH, the DoF at 1 metre might be enough...
Regards, David
PS The cheap adapter cost a lot more than the lens!

That will do fine.
I would get the one marked 50-75 for the I-61 l/d lens, in case you ever use it on a Leica M body in the future.
These adaptors are remarkably inexpensive these days, in the 1980s I bought the Leitz version of these for 50 dollars each and they were used, as that was all that was available. That was the going price in all the shops and at camera shows back then.

Honestly I bought this camera to sell in the end as I got it at a very good price. It is mint with box and all accessories, do you guys think I can sell it for $900?

Just keep it and use it.
The RD 1 is sort of a digital classic and highly respected still
I personally would not spend that kind of money ($900) on archaic digital cameras ( or any highly electronic based used camera for that matter) and that includes the Leica M8 and M8.2 but these still have their fan base and their defenders.

My Epson RD1 came.
Is it suppose to look like this inside? I thought it should have all black?

But you can call me Steve
That has to do with the light meter, it's fine. Beautiful looking camera too.
